Green PCIe x1 card with a silver 25-pin parallel port bracket

S-Union

S-Union PCIe Parallel Port Card 9805 Chip 25 Pin

SKU CH-TEPD-21A5C

Adds a 25-pin parallel port via PCI Express x1 for printers, programmers or scanners, supporting SPP, PS2, EPP and ECP modes under DOS, Windows, Linux and Mac OS

  • Add legacy printers via PCIe x1 slot
  • Connect programmers and scanners through 25‑pin port
  • Runs on Windows, Linux and Mac OS
  • IEEE 1284 SPP, PS2, EPP, ECP modes supported
  • 9805 chip with 16‑byte FIFO and 32‑bit bus

Single Parallel Port Card

A PCI Express x1 card adds one 25-pin parallel port using a 9805 chip and a 16C550C-compatible UART. It targets users who still operate legacy printers, programmers or scanners on modern motherboards lacking an LPT header.

Fits Any PCIe Slot Length

The x1 edge connector works in x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots without jumpers or switches; I/O address and IRQ are assigned by the BIOS. A low-profile bracket is included for slim chassis where full-height cards cannot be installed.

Sustained Legacy Throughput

Built-in 16-byte FIFO and 32-bit bus design compliant with PCI 2.1 keep data flowing under continuous SPP, PS2, EPP or ECP transfers per IEEE 1284. Not suited for builders who need more than one parallel port or who require USB or serial interfaces instead.

Questions about this item

How many parallel devices can the 25-pin LPT port on the 9805-chip card drive at once?

The card provides a single 25-hole parallel interface that complies with IEEE 1284 and supports SPP, PS2, EPP and ECP modes for one connected device.

What power and thermal load does the PCIe x1 card add when it runs continuously?

The board draws power from the PCI Express x1 slot per the 1.1 specification and uses a 32-bit bus design with a 16C550C-compatible UART, so it adds minimal heat and no fan is required.

Which motherboard slot and operating-system support must already be present for the card to work?

A free PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and any listed OS — DOS, Windows 95 through 7, Server 2003/2008 32/64-bit, Linux or Mac OS X 10.5 — are required.
