Universal NVMe Support Only

The Sabrent EC-PNVO enclosure accepts M.2 NVMe SSDs from 2230 to 2280 form factors with capacities up to 8 TB. It connects via USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps using the included USB-C cable and Type-A adapter. Tool-free installation allows quick drive swaps without screws. An aluminum heatsink and ABS frame provide passive cooling during sustained transfers. The unit works with Windows, macOS and Linux with no drivers required.

Check Your Drive Interface Before Use

This enclosure supports NVMe protocol drives only and will not function with M.2 SATA SSDs. Verify that your existing solid-state drive uses the NVMe interface before ordering. The package includes a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-A adapter for host connectivity. No external power supply is needed as the device draws power from the host port. Dimensions are 5.51 in x 3.54 in x 0.75 in and weight is 2.62 ounces.

Upgrade from Slower External Storage

The 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface delivers up to 1250 MB/s transfer rates, significantly faster than USB 3.0 or SATA-based external drives. It replaces older enclosures limited to 5 Gbps or lower bandwidth. The jump is worth it when moving large media libraries, running portable applications or backing up system images where sustained throughput matters. The tool-free design also suits technicians who swap drives frequently.

Questions about this item

Does the EC-PNVO include both USB-C and USB-A cables or do I need to buy an adapter separately?

The enclosure ships with a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB Type-A adapter, so no extra purchase is required for either connection type.

My SSD is a 2230 form factor — will it fit the EC-PNVO or do I need a different enclosure?

The EC-PNVO accepts M.2 NVMe drives from 2230 up to 2280, so a 2230 module fits without any additional hardware.

The box says 10 Gbps — what sustained throughput should I expect when the drive is inside a laptop?

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface is rated at 1250 MB/s; real-world speeds depend on the NVMe SSD used and the host controller.
