Big & tall executive chair

The Safco 3490BL is a high-back executive chair built for big and tall users in multi-shift, intensive-use environments. It supports a 500 lb capacity and is rated for 24/7 operation. The chair features a steel black frame with a five-star nylon base and hooded dual-wheel casters. Arms are sold separately.

Thermals noise and power

This office chair has no active cooling, power draw, or noise-generating components. The polyester upholstery and foam cushioning provide passive comfort during extended sitting periods. The pneumatic height adjustment operates without electricity. Stability comes from the oversized base and caster design.

Upgrade path and value

This chair replaces standard office seating that lacks the 500 lb capacity or 24/7 duty rating required for intensive use. The jump is worth it when users need the extra-wide 22.25 inch seat, 20.75 inch depth, and high back dimensions for long-term support. It suits environments where standard chairs wear out quickly.

Questions about this item

How do I install the pneumatic cylinder and five-star base, and what step do people get wrong?

Insert the pneumatic cylinder into the seat mechanism, then press the five-star nylon base onto the cylinder until it seats fully; the step people miss is confirming the base is locked before sitting.

Which parts will need maintenance or replacement after extended 24/7 use?

The 2-inch hooded dual-wheel casters, pneumatic lift cylinder, tilt tension knob and tilt lock lever are the components most likely to require service or replacement over time.

At what weight does the chair reach its rated limit during sustained use?

The chair is rated for a 500 lb capacity, so that is the limit that applies first under continuous 24/7 operation.
