Steel Book Cart for mobile collections

This steel book cart holds books, magazines or research collections on three open shelves. Four casters, two of which lock, let you roll the unit between rooms or aisles. The all-welded frame arrives fully assembled and ready to use.

Thermals noise and power draw

The cart has no powered components, so it generates no heat, no fan noise and draws no electricity. Its steel surfaces remain at ambient temperature during normal use. No power cable or outlet is required.

Build fit and space freed

The unit measures 36 wide, 14 deep and 43 high, fitting through standard doorways and narrow aisles. Locking casters keep it stationary when loaded, while the open shelves leave floor space clear underneath. No tools or extra hardware are needed to deploy it.

Questions about this item

Does the steel book cart arrive fully assembled or do I need to bolt the shelves to the frame?

The cart ships fully assembled with all-welded steel construction, so no bolts or tools are needed to put it together.

Which parts are likely to wear out first on the four casters with two locking brakes?

The wheel treads and swivel bearings on the four casters, including the two locking units, will need replacement after heavy daily rolling.

At what load does the 36w x 14d x 43h frame start to deflect during constant use?

The all-welded steel frame resists deflection up to its rated capacity; sustained loads near that limit will show the first signs of bowing.
