Smoke Detector Guard STI-9610

The Safety Technology International STI-9610 is a high-profile surface-mount guard designed to shield indoor smoke detectors from vandalism and accidental impact. It suits building managers and homeowners who need a durable protective cage for existing detectors.

Coated steel wire and mounting hardware

The guard uses 9-gauge coated steel wire in a white finish and ships with all required mounting hardware for surface installation. The open-back design allows the detector to sit flush against the mounting surface while the cage absorbs blows that would otherwise damage the unit.

Check detector fit and temperature range

Verify that your smoke detector fits within the guard’s 8 1/4-inch width and depth before ordering. The product is rated for an operating temperature span of -40 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, so confirm the installation environment stays within those limits.

Questions about this item

Will the steel wire guard need any maintenance or replacement parts over time?

The 9-gauge coated steel wire guard has no moving parts or consumables, so it does not require scheduled maintenance or replacement components.

What limit will I hit first if the guard is exposed to continuous high temperatures?

The guard is rated for an operating range of -40 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, so sustained heat above 250 °F is the first limit you would encounter.

Does the guard generate any noise, heat or draw power when installed?

The guard is a passive steel enclosure with no electronics, so it produces no noise, adds no heat and consumes no power.
