SAMSUNG 850 Pro-Series 2.5 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive

Professional & gaming storage

The Samsung 850 Pro-Series 128GB solid state drive targets business professionals and PC gamers who need reliable internal storage. It uses a SATA III interface in a 2.5 inch form factor. Magician software provides a RAPID mode option that performs 1.8 times faster. A Samsung 3-core MEX controller and LPDDR2 DRAM cache memory deliver enhanced performance with lower power consumption.

Mechanical drive replacement

This SSD replaces traditional mechanical hard drives to eliminate slow load times and improve system responsiveness. The jump is worth it when daily workflows involve frequent application launches, large file access or game level loading. The solid-state design brings increased reliability with no moving parts to fail. Users upgrading from older SATA SSDs will also see gains from the 3-core controller and RAPID mode software acceleration.

128GB capacity reality

The 128GB capacity comfortably handles an operating system, core applications and a modest selection of active games or project files. It runs out when users store large media libraries, extensive game collections or multiple virtual machines on the same drive. Heavy video editing scratch disks or database workloads will exceed the available space quickly. A secondary drive becomes necessary for bulk storage archiving.
