27″ Odyssey G5 QHD gaming monitor

The Samsung Odyssey G5 LS27FG532ENXZA is a 27-inch flat-panel gaming monitor built around a QHD IPS display. Its 2560 x 1440 resolution provides 1.7 times the pixel density of 1920 x 1080 for detailed visuals. The 16:9 panel covers 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles with 16.7 million colours. It targets players who want high refresh rates and adaptive sync in a mid-size screen.

Setup and common issues

The monitor uses a standard VESA mount and includes Auto Source Switch+ to change inputs automatically when a signal is detected. Ensure the graphics card can output 2560 x 1440 at 200 Hz over the chosen cable; older ports may limit the refresh rate. Enable FreeSync Premium in the driver to match the variable refresh range and avoid tearing. Check the on-screen menu to confirm 1 ms MPRT mode is active for motion clarity.

Sustained-load behaviour

During long sessions the IPS panel maintains 300 cd/m² brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio without the brightness drift seen in some high-refresh displays. HDR10 content shows brighter highlights and deeper shadows while the Black Equalizer keeps shadow detail visible. The 200 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms MPRT response stay consistent, so motion remains sharp across extended play rather than only in short bursts.
