3.84 TB enterprise NVMe SSD delivering 12000 MB/s reads and 6000 MB/s writes for server workloads
The Samsung PM9D3a MZWL63T8HFLT-00AW7 is a 3.84 TB enterprise solid-state drive built for server deployment. It connects through a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and uses the NVMe protocol. The 2.5 inch form factor fits standard drive bays in rack and tower systems. Sequential reads reach 12000 MB/s with 2000000 IOPS, while sequential writes hit 6000 MB/s at 250000 IOPS.
This drive matches applications such as caching tiers, content delivery and database logging where read performance dominates. The 3.84 TB capacity supports large working sets in a single slot. Environments that require sustained write endurance beyond the specified 250000 write IOPS or that need a different physical connector should evaluate alternative models.
The drive communicates over four lanes of PCIe 5.0 using NVMe. A compatible server backplane or add-in card with PCIe 5.0 x4 wiring is required to achieve the quoted 12000 MB/s read and 6000 MB/s write speeds. Without that link width the drive will negotiate a slower generation and not deliver the published figures.

The drive reaches 12000 MB/s read and 6000 MB/s write over the PCIe 5.0 x4 link.
It fits a standard 2.5 inch U.2 or U.3 bay with a PCIe 5.0 x4 backplane connector.
They forget to enable the PCIe 5.0 x4 lane bifurcation in the BIOS before the OS sees the drive.
