Saramonic SmartMic+ Directional Microphone with 3.5mm TRRS Plug

SmartMic+ directional microphone for mobile creators

The Saramonic SmartMic+ is a compact directional condenser microphone that plugs straight into a smartphone or tablet through a 3.5mm TRRS connector. It captures sound from the front while reducing noise from the sides and rear, making it suitable for vlogs, interviews and other spoken-word content. No batteries or configuration are required, so recording can start immediately after connection. A built-in 3.5mm headphone jack allows real-time monitoring when the recording app supports it.

Check device port and app support before ordering

Verify that your phone or tablet still provides a 3.5mm TRRS socket, because many recent models rely solely on USB-C or Lightning for audio. The microphone draws its power from the host device, so no separate supply is needed, but the monitoring function works only in apps that enable live audio pass-through. If your device uses a digital-only port you will need an appropriate adapter, which is not included.

Plug-and-play addition to a mobile recording kit

The microphone adds a directional pickup and a monitoring jack without increasing the bulk of a handheld setup, leaving the device’s charging port free for power or data accessories. Its gold-plated TRRS plug and headphone socket maintain signal integrity during extended sessions. Because it requires no batteries, there is nothing to charge or replace, keeping the kit light for on-the-go production.
