Galvanized steel grounding strap

The SatelliteSale SS-GSG9-1 is a 9-inch galvanized steel strap designed to create an electrical bond between a copper ground wire and metal pipes or masts. It suits installers grounding satellite antennas, CATV drops, telephone lines or water pipes to a meter panel mast.

Check pipe diameter and wire gauge

Verify the mounting pipe measures between 1/2 and 2 inches in diameter before ordering. The built-in screw and punched holes accept only 10 to 14 AWG copper ground wire, so confirm your wire falls in that range.

Replaces worn or missing ground clamps

This strap upgrades from a loose wrap or corroded clamp when a secure, code-compliant bond is required. The set-screw stud lets you swap ground wires without loosening the pipe clamp, making the jump worth it whenever the existing connection has failed inspection or shows oxidation.

Questions about this item

What comes in the pack and do I need to buy wire separately?

The pack contains one galvanized steel grounding strap with a built-in set-screw stud assembly. You must supply your own 10-14 AWG copper ground wire to complete the connection.

Which wire gauge should I use with the strap's terminal?

The set-screw stud accepts solid or stranded copper wire from 10 AWG down to 14 AWG, so choose the gauge that matches your existing grounding conductor.

What does the 9-inch length mean when the strap is clamped on a pipe?

The 9-inch strap wraps around pipes from 1/2 inch to 2 inches in diameter, giving enough reach to form a secure bond between the pipe and your ground wire.
