A thermal overload relay with 23 to 32 A range and 690 V AC rating protects three-phase motors
The Schneider Electric LR3D332 is a thermal overload relay designed to protect three-phase motor circuits rated up to 32 A at 690 V AC. It suits panel builders and maintenance engineers who need IEC-style protection that mounts directly onto a compatible TeSys Deca contactor.
The device operates passively with no fan or active cooling, so it adds no audible noise to the enclosure. Trip class 10A defines its thermal response curve, while the adjustable dial sets the overload threshold anywhere between 23 A and 32 A. Power draw is limited to the control circuit feeding the contactor coil.
A transparent housing lets technicians verify the dial position and trip status at a glance. Screw clamp terminals accept standard ferrules or bare wire for the 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts, and the direct-to-contactor mounting style eliminates the need for a separate DIN-rail footprint. Auto and manual reset modes are selectable on the front face.

Align the relay with the contactor's mounting rails, secure the three main-pole screw-clamp terminals first, then tighten the auxiliary 1NO/1NC contacts to ensure proper mechanical and electrical connection.
The thermal element is calibrated for Trip Class 10A; replace the complete relay if it trips repeatedly at the set current or after a confirmed overload event, as the bimetal strips cannot be serviced separately.
Sustained operation at the 32 A maximum setting reaches the Trip Class 10A thermal limit first, causing the relay to open the 1NC/1NO auxiliary contacts and disconnect the motor starter.
