Thermal overload relay protects three-phase motors from 30 to 40 amps at 690 volts AC with manual reset and screw terminals
The Schneider Electric LRD340 is a thermal overload relay designed for industrial motor protection. It provides a current setting range from 30 A to 40 A with a maximum voltage rating of 690V AC. The unit features 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts and mounts directly to compatible TeSys Deca contactors using screw clamp terminals.
Under continuous operation the relay follows Trip Class 10A characteristics, meaning it will trip within a defined time when current exceeds the set threshold. The thermal protection mechanism responds to prolonged overcurrent rather than momentary peaks, helping prevent motor damage during extended heavy-duty cycles. Manual reset ensures deliberate restart after a fault condition.
Heat dissipation occurs through direct mounting on the contactor, keeping the assembly compact inside the panel. The thermal sensing element operates without external power, so there is no additional control-circuit consumption. Screw clamp terminals maintain secure connections under vibration, supporting reliable performance in typical industrial environments.

The relay is a thermal overload device rated for 30-40 A at 690 V AC with Trip Class 10A; it trips on sustained over-current rather than producing continuous waste heat.
It mounts directly to TeSys Deca series contactors using screw-clamp terminals and requires a compatible 3-pole contactor from that range.
The LRD340 uses manual reset only, so your control circuit must provide a deliberate reset action after a trip; it will not re-close automatically.
