Industrial push button for control panels

The Schneider Electric ZB5AS844 is a 22 mm red mushroom-head operator designed for industrial electrical controls and automation. It suits maintenance engineers and panel builders who need a maintained-action switch for emergency stop or machine control functions.

Sealed to NEMA 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 13 and IP66, IP69K

The operator meets multiple NEMA enclosure ratings and high-pressure IP69K ingress protection, so it withstands wash-down environments and outdoor exposure. Its 22 mm mounting diameter fits standard panel cut-outs without adapters.

Plastic head, bezel and body resist corrosion

The 40 mm mushroom head and bezel are moulded from plastic, eliminating rust risk in humid or chemical atmospheres. Red colour coding provides immediate visual identification for safety-critical circuits.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 22 mm mushroom-head version or a different operator size?

The 22 mm mounting diameter is the standard cut-out for this Schneider Electric push button; the 40 mm mushroom head gives a large, easy-to-actuate surface for emergency or heavy-glove use.

What does the IP66 and IP69K rating mean once the button is installed in a panel?

IP66 protects against powerful water jets and dust; IP69K adds resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature wash-downs common in food and pharma plants.

Which NEMA ratings apply to this operator and what do they limit in practice?

NEMA 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X and 13 cover indoor dust, outdoor rain, hose-directed water, corrosion and oil/coolant splashing — the enclosure must meet the same rating for full compliance.
