Precision Scissors for Fabric and Paper

The Scotch 1448 is an eight-inch straight scissor built for everyday cutting tasks. Stainless steel blades provide a sharp edge that lasts through repeated use on fabric, heavyweight paper and photos. The symmetrical design works equally well for right-handed and left-handed users. A soft comfort-grip handle reduces fatigue during extended crafting sessions.

Light Hand Tool with No Power Requirements

As a manual cutting tool, the 1448 draws no electricity and produces no fan noise or heat. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion without any active cooling. Weighing 0.109 kilograms, it adds negligible mass to a workstation or travel kit. Operation stays completely silent, making it suitable for quiet environments.

Stainless Steel Build with Ergonomic Grip

Precision-sharpened blades deliver a smooth cutting action across a variety of materials. The soft-touch handle is moulded for comfort during long periods of use. Overall dimensions measure 1.4986 by 7.493 by 27.1018 centimetres, fitting standard drawer organisers. The scissor is sold as a single unit and pairs with Scotch adhesives for complete crafting workflows.

Questions about this item

How do I set the pivot tension on the 8" stainless-steel blades?

The 1448 model has a fixed rivet; no adjustment is needed or possible — simply open the box and cut.

Will the stainless-steel blades or soft-touch grip need replacement?

Blades are stainless steel and designed for long cutting life; the soft-touch grip is moulded on and not replaceable.

At what point does hand fatigue limit sustained cutting with the 109 g scissors?

The 109 g weight and soft-touch grip reduce strain, but fatigue depends on the user and material thickness.
