Vinyl-backed electrical tape with rubber adhesive rated for 600 volts and 220 °F
Scotch Super 88 is a premium vinyl electrical tape designed for electricians and technicians who require reliable insulation for wire splices and cable repairs up to 600 volts. Its rubber-based adhesive provides strong bonding to irregular surfaces in demanding environments.
The 8.5 mil vinyl backing delivers the tensile strength of 20 lb-in and adhesive strength of 60 oz/in needed for primary insulation on connections up to 600 volts. Thinner general-purpose tapes lack the dielectric withstand and mechanical protection this specification provides.
The tape meets ASTM D1000, CSA, UL 510 and RoHS 2002/95/EC standards, ensuring acceptance by electrical inspectors for permanent installations. UV resistance allows exposure to sunlight without the degradation that disqualifies unlisted tapes from outdoor or industrial use.
