Studio cardioid microphone with built-in gain

The SE Electronics DynaCaster is a front-addressed dynamic microphone designed for vocal capture in streaming, podcasting and music production. Its cardioid polar pattern rejects off-axis sound, keeping the focus on the speaker. Robust all-metal construction suits both fixed studio installations and portable recording setups.

Integrated +30 dB gain stage

An internal DYNAMITE circuit adds 30 dB of clean gain at the flick of a switch, reducing the load on external preamps and interfaces. This makes the microphone practical with a wider range of audio interfaces without adding external inline boosters. The gain stage is powered by standard phantom power supplied through the XLR connection.

Standard 3-pin XLR output

The microphone connects via a balanced 3-pin male XLR connector, compatible with professional audio interfaces, mixing consoles and portable recorders that provide phantom power. Buyers whose interface lacks phantom power or XLR inputs will need additional equipment to use this microphone.

Questions about this item

Will the V SERIES capsule or the +30 dB gain switch need servicing or replacement?

The all-metal construction and robust materials are built for longevity, and the internal DMC8 capsule is a solid-state design with no user-serviceable parts expected to wear out.

What limit appears first during a long streaming session — heat, distortion or gain headroom?

The +30 dB gain boost adds clean headroom before the preamp clips, so distortion is pushed further out; the dynamic capsule itself generates no heat.

How much self-noise or hiss does the DynaCaster add when the +30 dB boost runs all day?

The dynamic capsule and neodymium magnet keep self-noise very low, and the gain switch is a clean analogue stage that adds no audible hiss even at maximum boost.
