Product Identity

The Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9500420AS is a 500GB 2.5-inch internal hard drive spinning at 7200RPM with a 16MB cache. It connects via a SATA 3Gb/s interface and is built for laptops or compact desktops needing a mechanical storage upgrade.

Compatibility Check

Verify that your system has a free 2.5-inch drive bay and a SATA data and power connection available. The drive uses the 3Gb/s link speed, so confirm the host controller supports this standard for correct operation.

Sustained Workload Behaviour

Under continuous use the 7200RPM spindle delivers consistent throughput for sequential reads and writes. The 16MB buffer helps smooth burst activity, while the mechanical design maintains steady performance during extended file transfers or backup tasks.
