Seagate Constellation.2 1TB SAS Lot

This product is a lot of ten new Seagate Constellation.2 ST91000640SS enterprise hard drives. Each drive offers 1000GB capacity, 7200RPM rotational speed and a 6Gb/s SAS interface with 64MB cache. The 2.5-inch form factor suits dense server and storage arrays.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

System integrators and data-centre operators needing multiple nearline drives for 24×7 workloads will match the 1.4M-hour MTBF and high areal density. Buyers who require only a single drive, a different interface, or a retail-packaged unit should look at other options.

Deciding specification

The SAS 6Gb/s interface is the single specification that determines compatibility; the host system must provide a matching SAS backplane or controller for these drives to function.
