8TB Game Drive Hub for Xbox

The Seagate STKW8000400 is an 8TB desktop external hard drive designed for Xbox Series X, Series S and Xbox One owners who need a large game library in one place. It connects through USB 3.2 Gen 1 using the included 1.2M cable and a separate power adapter. The drive is new and formatted for immediate console use.

Vertical or horizontal stand with dual front ports

A black enclosure measuring 5.04 by 1.94 by 8.11 inches and weighing 2.99 lbs stands upright or flat to suit limited desk space. Two front-facing ports, one USB-C and one USB-A, let you attach and charge controllers or other accessories without reaching behind the console. Green LED lighting adds a subtle Xbox-themed glow.

Check console model and USB port version

Verify you own an Xbox One, Series X or Series S before ordering. A SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port is required for full transfer rates; the drive falls back to USB 2.0 speeds on older ports. Ensure a free mains socket is available for the supplied power adapter.

Questions about this item

What practical speed cap does the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface impose on this drive?

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface limits transfer rates to 5 Gbps, so real-world throughput will not exceed that ceiling.

What physical space and orientation options does the 5.04" x 1.94" x 8.11" enclosure require?

The drive fits a footprint of 5.04 by 1.94 inches and stands 8.11 inches tall; it can sit vertically or horizontally.

How is the drive installed, and which step do users often miss?

Connect the included 1.2 m USB 3.0 cable and the power adapter, then format the drive on the Xbox; skipping the format step leaves the volume unrecognised.
