A compact three-axis analog accelerometer measuring ±3 g with a Grove connector for direct microcontroller use
The Grove ADXL335 module provides three-axis analog acceleration data with a ±3 g range. It operates from 3 V to 5 V and draws only 150 µA typical in measurement mode. The board uses a 4×4×1.45 mm LFCSP package and includes a Grove connector for direct plug-in use with compatible microcontroller boards. It suits robotics, vibration monitoring and tilt detection projects.
The sensor consumes 150 µA at 3 V during active measurement and 350 µA typical at the same voltage. Analog voltage outputs produce no switching noise, and the tiny 4×4 mm package generates negligible heat. No fan or heatsink is required and the module is silent in operation.
The ADXL335 measures acceleration up to ±3 g, covering gravity-based tilt and moderate shock or vibration. Applications needing higher g-range, digital output or lower noise density will require a different sensor. The Grove connector and 3 V–5 V supply simplify integration for the supported range.

Connect the Grove cable to the onboard connector and an Arduino Grove shield; the step often missed is powering the module within the 3 V to 5 V range before reading the analog X, Y and Z outputs.
The solid-state MEMS sensor has no moving parts and no user-serviceable components; if the board is physically damaged or the Grove connector fails, replace the entire module.
The ±3 g measurement range is the first limit; accelerations beyond three times gravity will saturate the analog outputs regardless of how long the module is powered.
