Seeed Studio Grove Base for XIAO with Battery Management

Plug-and-play Grove shield for XIAO

This compact extension board bridges a Seeed Studio XIAO module with the Grove ecosystem, providing eight Grove connectors that include two I2C ports and one UART. All 14 GPIO pins are broken out, removing the need for jumper wires or soldering during prototyping. The board also reserves a bonding pad for an SPI flash chip and features a compact, breakable layout.

On-board lithium battery management

An embedded charging and management chip allows the shield to run from a 3.7 V lithium cell and recharge it directly on the board. A power switch and charging status indicator give immediate visual feedback on battery state. This makes the shield suitable for portable and wearable projects that require cordless operation.

Supports 300 Grove modules with portable power

The shield unlocks access to over 300 Grove sensors, actuators, displays and communication modules for rapid project development. Battery-backed operation works while the 3.7 V cell holds charge, but runtime is limited by the cell capacity and the XIAO’s own current draw. Projects needing higher voltage rails or extended uptime without recharging will require an external power solution.
