This single-pole double-throw relay handles up to 30 A at 250 VAC or 30 VDC from a 5 V coil. It is built for makers and engineers who need to switch mains appliances or heavy DC loads such as vehicle lighting and horns from a low-voltage controller.

Grove plug-in wiring with NC default

The module uses a Grove-compatible connector so it plugs directly into a Grove base shield without soldering. When the coil is unpowered the common and normally-closed contacts are connected; energising the coil switches continuity to the normally-open contact. Mains-voltage work demands proper insulation, clearance and a qualified electrician.

30 A rating covers large AC and DC loads
