Adds a 650 mAh Li-Po battery, USB-C charging up to 660 mA, a BQ27441 fuel gauge and four Grove ports to the Wio Terminal
This chassis adds a built-in 650mAh lithium polymer battery to the Wio Terminal, turning the device into a portable sensor platform. It suits developers who need untethered data logging or field demonstrations without relying on a permanent USB supply. The unit includes four Grove analog and digital ports plus one I2C and one UART connector for sensor expansion.
The BQ27441-G1A fuel gauge monitors the cell continuously, reporting remaining capacity during long logging sessions rather than only at start-up. Charging accepts a 4.75V to 5.25V supply at up to 660mA through the USB Type-C port, while over-current and hiccup protection guard the cell under prolonged load. Status LEDs show charging, discharging and 5V output states at a glance.
The chassis clips onto the terminal and draws power automatically when the battery switch is on. If the cell is disconnected the board enters a failure mode with a blinking green LED, so the battery must stay seated during use. Pressing the on-board button puts the unit into sleep mode for safety, extinguishing the rear LED until the next wake-up.

The board has no fan and no active cooling; it relies on passive heat dissipation from the BQ27441-G1A fuel gauge and the overcurrent protection circuitry.
You need a Seeed Studio Wio Terminal main board; the chassis attaches to its 40-pin connector and adds a 650 mAh Li-Po cell, USB-C charging at up to 660 mA, and four Grove analog/digital ports.
Yes — the chassis connects through the standard 40-pin header, so any Wio Terminal with that header can use the 650 mAh battery, the BQ27441-G1A gauge, and the Grove I²C/UART ports.
