Beasts of War DLC for ROME II

This downloadable unit pack adds seven new battlefield units to Total War: ROME II. It is published by Sega and activates through Steam with a region-locked code. Owners of the base game on Windows can expand their rosters with factions such as Pontus and Parthia.

For strategy players who own ROME II

The DLC suits players who already own Total War: ROME II on Steam and want additional unit variety. It is not usable without the base game installed. Buyers in the blocked countries listed in the specifications cannot activate the code. Users without a Steam account or without 35 GB of free drive space cannot install the required files.

Steam activation and 35 GB requirement

A Steam account and the base game are mandatory for activation and play. The installer requires 35 GB of available hard-drive space. The minimum graphics card must provide 512 MB of video memory with DirectX 9.0c compatibility. Minimum display resolution is 1024x768.

Questions about this item

Will the 35 GB install size grow with future patches?

The download requires 35 GB of hard-drive space; any later updates will add to that footprint, so reserve extra capacity.

Which hardware limit appears first during long campaigns?

The 2 GB minimum RAM and 512 MB video memory are the tightest constraints, so extended battles will hit system memory before the CPU.

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the GPU running all day?

The game only needs a DirectX 9.0c card with 512 MB VRAM, so even modest graphics hardware stays cool and quiet during marathon sessions.
