Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone

The Sennheiser MKE 600 is a professional shotgun microphone designed for video production and filmmaking. It delivers highly directional audio capture using a super-cardioid/lobar polar pattern. The bundle includes a shock mount, foam windshield, carry pouch, and an H&A professional windshield with 14cm internal length. Power options include phantom power or a single AA battery via XLR connection.

Ideal for focused sound capture

This microphone suits creators recording dialogue or effects where isolating the source is critical. The switchable low-cut filter helps reduce low-frequency rumble during location shoots. It is not suited for users needing stereo pickup or multi-pattern flexibility. Buyers who require wireless operation or USB connectivity should consider other solutions.

Super-cardioid/lobar polar pattern

The super-cardioid/lobar polar pattern provides tight forward focus and strong side rejection for clean on-axis recording. This directivity is the key factor in deciding if the MKE 600 matches the acoustic demands of your production environment.

Questions about this item

Does the MKE 600 generate noticeable self-noise or heat during long recording sessions?

The microphone is a passive transducer with no internal fan or amplifier that produces heat; its super-cardioid/lobar pattern rejects off-axis sound, keeping the signal clean during extended use.

What equipment must I already own to power and connect the MKE 600?

You need a device with an XLR input that can supply phantom power, or a single AA battery for standalone operation.

Will the included 14 cm windshield fit the MKE 600 if I keep using my current shock mount?

Yes, the bundle supplies a dedicated shock mount for a camera light-shoe and the 14 cm windshield covers the microphone without interfering with that mount.
