Sennheiser XS Lav USB-C for creators

The Sennheiser XS Lav USB-C is a condenser lavalier microphone designed for content creation and video conferencing. Its omnidirectional capsule captures clear, natural speech without requiring precise aiming. The 2 m cable provides freedom of movement at a desk or on set. A mic clip, windscreen and storage pouch are included in the box.

USB plug-and-play limits

The microphone connects through a standard USB interface for driver-free operation on computers and compatible mobile devices. Audio quality is bounded by the built-in analogue-to-digital conversion rather than an external interface. The 110 decibel sensitivity and 25 decibel signal-to-noise ratio define the practical dynamic range for quiet or loud sources. No phantom power or separate preamp is required or supported.

Omnidirectional capsule decides fit

The fixed omnidirectional pickup pattern captures sound equally from every direction, which suits single-speaker recording in controlled rooms. It cannot reject off-axis noise the way a cardioid or shotgun capsule would. Buyers who need directional isolation for noisy environments or multi-person interviews should consider a different microphone type.

Questions about this item

Is the Sennheiser XS Lav USB-C sold in different versions or capacities?

The XS Lav USB-C is offered as a single model, part number 509261, in black with a clip, windscreen and storage pouch. A separate Mobile Kit adds a mini tripod and smartphone clamp.

What does the 110 dB sensitivity mean when I plug the mic into my computer?

The 110 dB figure indicates a high output level from the omnidirectional capsule, so speech is captured clearly without needing extra gain in your recording software.

Does the USB connector limit the audio quality or cable length in practice?

The USB connection carries digital audio directly to the host, and the supplied 2 m (6.6 ft) cable sets the practical working distance from the computer.
