Brass push-fit coupling for 1 in pipe
The SharkBite UIP3020 is a straight slip connector made of brass for potable water systems. It joins two 1 in tubes with push-to-connect ends on both sides. No soldering, clamps or glue are required for installation. Suitable for residential and commercial plumbing repairs or new work.
Rated for 200 psi and 200 °F continuous service
The fitting holds its seal at the maximum operating pressure of 200 psi and the maximum operating temperature of 200 °F. Brass construction resists corrosion and stress during prolonged exposure to hot water. The slip design allows insertion into tight runs without extra movement of the pipe. Performance stays consistent through repeated thermal cycles.
Lead exposure warning applies under California law
The product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Brass body meets potable water standards for normal use. No pre-applied thread sealant is included or needed with the push-fit design. Overall length is 1 27/32 in for planning clearances.

Questions about this item
Does the 1 in brass coupling add measurable heat or noise to a potable water line running at 200 psi all day?
No, the solid brass body has no moving parts and produces no heat or noise under continuous 200 psi operation.
What pipe material and outer diameter must already be in place for the push-to-connect ends to seal?
Any clean 1 in outer diameter copper, PEX or CPVC pipe works; no threads, solder or glue are required.
Will the 1 27/32 in overall length fit between existing 1 in copper lines without re-piping?
The straight slip connector design slides onto both cut ends, so it bridges the gap without changing the surrounding pipe layout.
