G936 USB 7.1 headset

The SOMIC G936 connects via USB and delivers virtual 7.1 surround sound for PC and PS4 gaming. An integrated audio chipset processes positional cues while four preset modes tailor the response for specific titles or movies. A detachable ENC dual microphone reduces background noise by 35 dB for clear chat.

50 mm drivers and 96 kHz headroom

Fifty-millimetre units cover 12 Hz to 22 kHz with a sensitivity of 103 dB and 32 Ω impedance. Rated power sits at 15 mW and peaks at 30 mW, so the headset handles loud transients without distortion. The 24-bit 96 kHz USB link preserves detail, though the 65 dB signal-to-noise ratio sets a noise floor for critical listening.

2.2 m cable and inline control

A 2.2 metre cord ends in a USB plug and carries an inline module for volume and mode switching. The omnidirectional microphone measures 9.7 by 4.5 mm with -38 dB sensitivity and 2.2 kΩ impedance. Weighing roughly 330 g, the over-ear design uses canal coupling for passive isolation during long sessions.

Questions about this item

Will the USB connector on this headset work with the USB 2.0 ports on my older PC?

The headset connects via a standard USB plug and draws power from the port; USB 2.0 provides sufficient bandwidth and current for the 15 mW rated speaker power and the ENC microphone.

How can I confirm the virtual 7.1 surround and the four game modes are active after I plug it in?

Open the sound control panel, verify the device enumerates as a 7.1 audio endpoint, then use the inline mode switch to cycle through PUBG, LOL, CF and movie presets — each press changes the DSP profile audibly.

Does the package include a separate microphone boom or do I need to buy one?

The box contains only the G936 headset with its integrated 9.7 × 4.5 mm omni-directional boom; no extra microphone or adapter is included.
