Miniature Photoelectric Sensor

The Sick GL6-P1211 is a compact retro-reflective sensor with dual-lens optics in a 12 mm by 31.5 mm by 21 mm ABS/PC housing. It operates on 10 to 30 V DC and provides a PNP switching output with selectable light or dark switching via a 270° potentiometer. The IP67-rated enclosure suits industrial environments from –25 °C to +55 °C.

Sensing Range and Output Limits

Maximum sensing range reaches 6 m with a 5 m operating range using visible red PinPoint LED at 650 nm. The light spot measures 8 mm at 350 mm distance. Switching frequency is 1,000 Hz with a response time under 625 µs, while output current is capped at 100 mA. A 2 m PVC cable with three wires handles the connection.

PNP Switching Configuration

The sensor delivers a PNP HIGH signal near supply voltage minus 3 V and a LOW signal near 0 V, making it suitable for controllers that expect positive switching. Builders needing NPN output or a different connector type must select another model.
