4 mm sensing range with non-flush mounting

The decisive specification is the 4 mm nominal sensing range paired with a non-flush installation type. This means the sensor must protrude from the surrounding metal to achieve its rated distance, and the safe sensing range is 3.24 mm. A 4,000 Hz switching frequency supports fast cyclic processes, while the NPN normally-closed output holds the signal high until a metal target enters the field. The M8 3-pin connector simplifies wiring in DC 3-wire systems.

Handles high-cycle detection up to 200 mA loads

The sensor comfortably drives continuous loads up to 200 mA with built-in short-circuit, reverse-polarity and power-up pulse protection. Reproducibility stays within 2 % and temperature drift is limited to ±10 % across the –25 °C to +75 °C operating range. It runs out of headroom when the target moves beyond 4 mm or when the application demands flush mounting, higher current or a different output logic such as PNP or NO.
