The Sick IME30-10BNOZW2K is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor with a 10 mm sensing range and a flush mounting design. It uses a nickel-plated brass M30 × 1.5 threaded housing measuring 51 mm in length with a 35 mm thread length. The sensor provides an NPN normally closed output on a 2 m PVC cable for industrial detection tasks.

DC Supply Limits and Cable Constraints

Operation requires a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply with a maximum 10 % ripple and a 2 V drop across the switch. The 3-wire cable uses 0.25 mm² conductors and a 3.9 mm outer diameter, limiting voltage drop over long runs. A 125 ms power-up delay and 500 Hz switching frequency set the timing boundaries for control loops.

NPN Normally Closed Output Decides Fit

The sensor sinks current through an NPN transistor that opens when a target enters the 10 mm range, delivering up to 200 mA continuous load current. This output logic suits PLC inputs that expect a low signal when the object is present. Builders needing a high signal on detection or a PNP sourcing output must choose a different part.
