M30 inductive proximity sensor with 15 mm sensing range, PNP normally-closed output and IP67-rated nickel-plated brass housing
The Sick IME30-15BPOZW2S is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor built for industrial automation and machine monitoring. It detects metal targets at a 15 mm sensing range with a flush mounting design. The PNP normally closed output suits control circuits that require a signal break on target presence. An IP67 enclosure rating protects the nickel-plated brass housing against dust and temporary immersion.
This unit replaces mechanical limit switches or lower-range inductive sensors where non-contact detection reduces wear. The jump is worth it when applications demand 500 Hz switching frequency and 2 % reproducibility for precise timing. A 10 to 30 V DC supply range fits standard industrial power rails. The 2 m PVC cable eliminates separate connector purchases for straightforward wiring.
The sensor comfortably handles metal detection up to 12.15 mm safe sensing range in stable conditions. It runs out when targets exceed the 15 mm maximum or when ambient temperatures fall below –25 °C or rise above +75 °C. The 200 mA continuous current limit restricts direct load driving to small relays or PLC inputs. Shock resistance of 30 g and vibration tolerance up to 55 Hz cover typical machine vibration profiles.

The sensor uses an M30 x 1.5 thread with a 30 mm diameter and requires a maximum tightening torque of 100 Nm.
Connect the brown wire to 10–30 V DC, blue to ground, and black to the load; do not exceed 200 mA continuous current or the short-circuit protection will trip.
Check the 2 m PVC cable for cuts or abrasion if the sensor operates near its –25 °C to +75 °C limits or after repeated 30 g shock events.
