Ultrasonic sensor for short-range detection

The SICK UC4-13341 is a new ultrasonic sensor designed for industrial automation and electrician tooling. It detects natural objects at distances from 13 mm up to a limiting range of 250 mm. The rectangular ABS housing carries an IP67 enclosure rating for dust and water protection.

DC supply voltage 15 V to 30 V

Operation requires a DC supply between 15 V and 30 V with a power consumption of 0.75 W. The sensor connects via a male M8 3-pin connector and initialises in under 300 ms. A 380 kHz ultrasonic frequency drives a typical response time of 24 ms and a 30 Hz switching frequency.

Resolution 0.1 mm with ±0.15 % repeatability

The sensor delivers a resolution of 0.1 mm and repeatability of ±0.15 %, with an accuracy of ±1 %. Temperature compensation is included. Switching modes such as distance-to-object, window and object-between-sensor-background are configurable by teach-in, while dual LEDs provide status indication.
