A 2048x1088 CMOS code reader with dynamic focus, 512 MB internal storage, and 10/100/1,000 Mbit/s Ethernet
The Sick V2D652R-MEWHA6 is a fixed-mount barcode scanner built for automated identification tasks. It uses a 2048x1088 CMOS sensor with integrated white LED illumination at 6,000 K. A C-mount lens with 54 mm focal length and f/8 aperture is fitted. The unit stores up to 512 MB of images internally and transmits data over 10/100/1,000 Mbit/s Ethernet. Four digital inputs and encoder support up to 1 kHz are provided.
This reader suits conveyor-based workflows that need rapid, hands-free decoding at variable distances. The dynamic focus and laser alignment aid simplify setup on fast-moving lines. Operations requiring wireless connectivity, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi communication, or battery-powered portable scanning should look at other device types. Environments needing colour image capture are not supported by the grayscale sensor.
The C-mount lens interface is the single specification that determines whether this reader fits the application. It allows the user to select alternative focal lengths or apertures for specific field-of-view and depth-of-field requirements. The fixed 54 mm f/8 lens supplied may not cover every working distance or code size. Verify the optical format and mounting standard match the intended mechanical integration before purchase.

Screw the C-mount lens onto the 1″ optical format thread, set the focal length to 54 mm and aperture to f/8, then run the Dynamic Focus calibration so the reader adjusts working distance automatically; skipping that calibration is the common mistake.
The integrated white LED illumination (6,000 K ± 500 K) and the green feedback spot LED (525 nm ± 15 nm) are solid-state and rated for long life; the red alignment laser (630–680 nm) and the CMOS sensor window are the only parts that may need periodic cleaning or eventual replacement.
The 1 kHz maximum encoder frequency limits how fast consecutive triggers can be processed, so sustained high-speed conveyor use will hit that encoder ceiling before the 1,000 Mbit/s Ethernet or the 512 MB internal image storage become constraints.
