Photoelectric retro-reflective sensor with 0.05 m to 3.7 m range, NPN output, M12 connector, IP67 metal housing, 10–30 V DC supply
The Sick VL18-4N3340 is a photoelectric retro-reflective sensor designed for industrial automation and object detection tasks. It operates on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply and provides an NPN switching output suitable for PLC inputs and control systems.
The sensor features a cylindrical straight housing made of nickel-plated brass and plastic measuring 78 mm. An M12 4-pin male connector ensures a secure, quick-disconnect wiring method while the IP67 enclosure rating protects against dust and temporary immersion in harsh environments.
The maximum sensing range reaches 3.7 metres with a practical range of 3 metres using visible red LED light. A potentiometer allows sensitivity adjustment and the L/D control cable selects light or dark switching to match the application logic.
