Sick VTE18-3P8112 photoelectric proximity sensor PNP

SICK VTE18-3P8112 proximity sensor

The SICK VTE18-3P8112 is a cylindrical photoelectric proximity sensor with a PNP dark-switching output. It operates on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply and connects via a 2 m PVC cable. The brass nickel-plated metal housing meets IP67 enclosure rating for harsh industrial environments.

700 mm sensing range with 800 mm maximum

The sensor reliably detects objects from 10 mm to 700 mm using an infrared LED with a 2.8° dispersion angle. A potentiometer allows adjustment of the sensing distance within this window. The maximum sensing range extends to 800 mm, beyond which detection cannot be guaranteed.

PNP dark-switching output decides compatibility

The switching output is PNP with dark-switching mode, meaning the output activates when the beam is interrupted. This logic must match the controller input specification. A 2 ms response time and 30 mA power consumption complete the electrical profile for integration checks.
