The Sick VTE18-4N2812 is a cylindrical infrared sensor designed for object detection in automation environments. It operates on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply with an NPN switching output suitable for PLC inputs. The housing carries an IP67 enclosure rating for dust and water resistance. Operating temperatures span –25 °C to +70 °C.

Adjustable sensing with potentiometer and L/D

A built-in potentiometer lets you set the sensing range between 3 mm and 170 mm, with a maximum reach of 200 mm. The light/dark switching mode is selectable via the L/D control cable without opening the housing. Infrared LED emission with a 2.8° dispersion angle provides a focused detection beam. A 2 m PVC cable with 0.14 mm² conductors is permanently attached.
