Cylindrical M18 photoelectric proximity sensor

The Sick VTE18-4P2112 is a cylindrical photoelectric proximity sensor with an M18 × 1 thread and a 63.6 mm housing length. It operates on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply and uses an infrared LED to detect objects at distances from 3 mm to 170 mm. The PNP output supports light/dark switching selected via a control cable. It is suited for industrial automation tasks that require a compact axial-optic sensor.

Two-metre PVC cable and selectable switching

A 2 m four-wire PVC cable with 0.14 mm² conductors provides the electrical connection, removing the need for a separate connector. The L/D control cable lets the installer choose between light-on and dark-on behaviour without opening the housing. Switching frequency reaches 250 Hz with a 2 ms response time, and the output handles up to 100 mA. Built-in circuit protection covers reverse polarity, short-circuit, overload and inductive kickback.

Nickel-plated brass housing rated IP67

The metal housing is made of nickel-plated brass with a PMMA plastic optic, weighs 120 g and meets IP67 enclosure rating. It withstands ambient temperatures from –25 °C to +70 °C and carries UL file number NMFT2.E175606.
