Industrial photoelectric sensor

The Sick VTF18-4P5612 is a cylindrical NPN photoelectric proximity sensor built for industrial automation. It uses background blanking to ignore objects beyond the set range. The M18 threaded housing fits standard mounting points on conveyors or machine frames.

10–30 V DC supply range

Operation requires a DC supply between 10 V and 30 V with ripple below 10 %. The four-wire PVC cable runs two metres and carries 0.14 mm² conductors. Switching frequency reaches 250 Hz with a 2 ms response time. Output current is limited to 100 mA.

45 mm sensing distance

Reliable detection covers 0 mm to 45 mm using an infrared LED spot of 3 mm at 25 mm. The focused optics and fixed adjustment suit consistent part positioning. IP67 enclosure and –25 °C to +70 °C temperature range allow use in wet or dusty environments. Not suited for applications needing longer range or adjustable sensitivity.
