Sensing range up to 15 m

The SICK WL250-2N1131 is a photoelectric retro-reflective sensor designed for industrial automation and detection tasks. It uses visible red LED light and a dual-lens optical system to detect objects across distances from 0.01 m to 15 m depending on reflector type. The rectangular ABS housing measures 20 mm by 65 mm by 43.9 mm and includes an IP67 enclosure rating for dust and water protection. It comes supplied with a P250 reflector and BEF-W250 mounting bracket.

NPN switching output with selectable light/dark mode

The sensor provides an NPN switching output rated at a maximum of 100 mA with a response time of 0.5 ms and a switching frequency of 1,000 Hz. Light or dark switching is selectable via the L/D control cable, and sensitivity is adjusted using a two-turn potentiometer. Supply voltage ranges from 10 V DC to 30 V DC with a ripple of 5 Vpp, and power consumption is 20 mA. Connection is made through a 2 m, 4-wire PVC cable with 0.18 mm² conductors.

Operating temperature –25 °C to +55 °C

The unit operates reliably between –25 °C and +55 °C and weighs 150 g. Circuit protection includes safeguards labelled A through D, and the housing meets protection class III. The light spot reaches approximately 260 mm diameter at 8 m distance with a 2° dispersion angle. Optics are made from PMMA plastic. EMC compliance follows EN 60947-5-2.
