The SICK WLL190T-2N432 is a stand-alone fiber-optic photoelectric sensor designed for industrial automation and machine-building applications. It uses visible red LED light at 650 nm with an approximate 65° dispersion angle to detect objects in through-beam or proximity configurations. The rectangular housing measures 10.5 mm by 34.8 mm by 76.5 mm and includes a 2-metre PVC cable with four wires for integration into control systems. Operators configure settings via a single teach-in button and a menu-driven interface.

Supply Voltage and Switching Limits

The sensor operates on a DC supply between 10 V and 24 V with a maximum ripple of 10 % and a power consumption of 50 mA. Its NPN switching output supports light or dark switching modes selected manually, delivering a maximum output current of 100 mA. Programmable time functions include off delay, on delay and one-shot modes with a delay range up to 9,999 ms. Response times vary between 60 µs and 2 ms depending on the selected switching frequency of 250 Hz, 2,000 Hz or 8,333 Hz.

Sensing Range Determines Fit

Through-beam operation with the appropriate fibre reaches up to 4 m while proximity sensing covers 0 mm to 480 mm. Buyers needing longer proximity detection or a PNP output type will find this model unsuitable for those requirements. The fixed 2-metre cable length may also limit installation flexibility in larger machinery layouts.
