Sensing range and laser precision

The Sick WT27L-2F430 is a photoelectric proximity sensor with background suppression for detecting small objects. It uses a visible red laser operating at 650 nm with a 2 mm spot size at 400 mm distance. The sensing range spans 100 mm to 800 mm and the sensor is rated laser class 2 per EN 60825-1. Adjustment is made via a potentiometer on the housing.

Power consumption and switching performance

The unit runs on 10 V DC to 30 V DC with a ripple of 5 percent and draws 35 mA. It provides a PNP complementary output with light/dark switching and a maximum output current of 100 mA.
