Ultra-wide prime for APS-C RF

The Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary lens is built for Canon RF-mount APS-C cameras and arrives bundled with a 62mm filter kit, PC software kit, cap keeper and cleaning kit. It suits photographers and videographers who want an expansive field of view with a bright maximum aperture for low-light scenes, astrophotography or creative street work.

Aperture range and optical headroom

The lens opens to f/1.4 and stops down to f/16, giving wide latitude for shallow depth of field or extended depth across a frame. Its 14 elements in 12 groups, including two SLD and three aspherical elements, control distortion and aberration well at the wide end, though extreme corners at f/1.4 can show softness that improves when stopped down.

Compact build with bundled protection

The lightweight barrel keeps an APS-C kit mobile for travel and daily carry, and the supplied 62mm filters thread directly onto the front without adapters. A cap keeper secures the front cap during shooting, while the cleaning kit helps maintain optical clarity in dusty or humid conditions. Build is solid for the class, though the plastic mount may not suit users who prefer a metal bayonet.

Questions about this item

Will the Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary Lens work with my existing Canon RF APS-C camera body?

Yes, this lens is designed specifically for Canon RF mount APS-C cameras, providing an ultra-wide 12mm focal length and f/1.4 maximum aperture that integrates directly with the camera's autofocus and exposure systems.

How can I verify the autofocus is performing accurately after mounting the lens?

After attaching the lens, use the camera's AF point selection to focus on a high-contrast subject at various distances; the integrated autofocus system should lock quickly and silently, and test shots at f/1.4 should show sharp detail across the 14-element optical design.

Does the bundle include everything needed to start shooting, or do I need to buy a filter or cleaning supplies separately?

The bundle includes the Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary Lens, a 62mm Filter Kit, PC Software Kit, Cap Keeper, and Cleaning Kit, so no additional accessories are required for basic operation and maintenance.
