SIGMA 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Sony E bundle 67mm filter kit

Wide-angle APS-C lens for Sony E

The Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens delivers a 24mm equivalent field of view on Sony E-mount APS-C cameras. Its fast F1.4 aperture enables shallow depth of field and strong low-light performance. The optical design uses 16 elements in 13 groups to control aberrations across the frame. A stepping motor provides smooth autofocus for video work.

Sony APS-C shooters wanting fast wide prime

This lens suits photographers and videographers using Sony E-mount APS-C bodies who need a bright wide-angle perspective for interiors, landscapes or environmental portraits. The dust- and splash-resistant mount helps in adverse conditions. Full-frame Sony users should look elsewhere because the DC designation means the image circle covers APS-C only. Buyers needing zoom versatility or longer focal lengths will need a different optic.

F1.4 maximum aperture at 16mm

The F1.4 maximum aperture is the specification that decides whether this lens fits your needs. It gathers significantly more light than slower wide-angle zooms, allowing faster shutter speeds and shallower depth of field at the 24mm equivalent focal length. The 67mm filter thread accepts standard circular filters for creative control. If your work demands a smaller maximum aperture or a different focal length, this is not the right choice.
