Constant f/1.8 across 17-40mm

The 17-40mm focal span covers wide-angle to short telephoto, equivalent to 25.5-60mm on a 35mm sensor. Brightness stays at f/1.8 throughout, so exposure does not shift when zooming. At the long end the aperture still gathers ample light, yet the fixed maximum means extremely shallow depth of field at 40mm is limited to f/1.8. Shooters needing faster than f/1.8 or longer reach will need a different optic.

Inner zoom with HLA focus

An inner zoom mechanism keeps the lens length constant, easing gimbal balancing and polariser use. The HLA linear actuator drives fast, quiet autofocus with minimal focus breathing for video.
