Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8 DC Art Lens

This APS-C zoom lens for Fujifilm X-mount cameras delivers a constant f/1.8 aperture across the 17-40mm focal range. The optical design uses 17 elements in 11 groups for sharp results from wide-angle to short telephoto. It suits photographers and videographers who need fast aperture versatility in a single lens.

Check Fujifilm X-mount compatibility

Verify your camera uses the Fujifilm X mount before ordering. The lens is designed for APS-C sensors and provides a 25.5-60mm equivalent field of view. The bundle adds a ProOptic 67mm filter kit and a Hoya NXT Plus 67mm UV filter, so ensure 67mm threads match any additional accessories you own.

Thermals noise and power draw

The HLA linear actuator provides fast, quiet autofocus with minimal focus breathing for video work. An inner zoom mechanism keeps the lens length constant during operation, aiding balance on gimbals. The construction is over 30% lighter than the earlier 18-35mm f/1.8 design, reducing strain during extended handheld shooting.

Questions about this item

What comes in the Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8 DC Art lens box for Fujifilm X?

The bundle includes the lens, a lens hood, front and rear caps, a carrying pouch, a Sigma 4-year warranty, a ProOptic 67mm Digital Essentials Filter Kit and a Hoya NXT Plus 67mm UV filter.

How do I choose between the 17-40mm f/1.8 and the older 18-35mm f/1.8 Art lens?

The 17-40mm adds a wider 17 mm starting point, extends to 40 mm, weighs about 30 % less and keeps the constant f/1.8 aperture through the whole range.

What does the constant f/1.8 aperture mean when shooting on an APS-C Fujifilm body?

You get the same bright f/1.8 at every focal length from 17 to 40 mm, giving consistent low-light exposure and shallow depth of field without ramping down as you zoom.
