A wide-angle prime with f/1.8 aperture, 1:1 macro focus at 7.1 inches, and 84.1° view for Nikon DSLRs
Sigma's 24mm f/1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro lens is a wide-angle prime designed for full-frame Nikon DSLR cameras. It also works on APS-C bodies where the field of view equals approximately 35mm. The large f/1.8 aperture suits low-light work and shallow depth of field. Two aspherical elements correct distortion across the 84.1-degree angle of view.
Photographers needing a fast wide angle for landscapes, groups or reportage will find the 7.1-inch minimum focus distance useful for near-far compositions. The nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth background highlights. Buyers who want zoom flexibility or a longer telephoto reach should look at a different focal length. The fixed 24mm perspective does not suit every shooting style.
The lens mounts directly to the Nikon F bayonet without an adapter. A floating internal focus system keeps the front element stationary, simplifying filter use. Dual-focus allows instant manual override by turning the ring while in autofocus. The package includes a hood, front and rear caps, plus a carrying case. No firmware steps are required.

It fits Nikon F-mount DSLR bodies, covering both full-frame and APS-C formats, so any camera using that bayonet will accept the lens.
On an APS-C sensor the field of view narrows to roughly the 35mm equivalent, so the wide perspective changes while the lens optics remain identical.
Switch to manual focus, turn the ring until the subject at 7.1 inches is sharp, and verify the front element does not rotate or extend during the process.
