Compact wide prime for Sony E

The Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary lens is built for Sony E-mount cameras and suits photographers and videographers who want a bright, weather-sealed prime in a small all-metal body. Its fast f/2 aperture supports low-light work and shallow depth of field for street, landscape and documentary shooting.

Backpack, card, reader and filter kit included

The bundle adds a backpack for transport, a memory card and card reader for immediate capture and offload, plus a filter kit to protect the front element and manage reflections. These accessories let you start shooting and backing up files without buying separate items.

Limited to Sony E-mount and fixed 35mm field of view

The lens mounts only on Sony E-mount bodies, so it cannot be used on other systems without an adapter. The single focal length means you must move physically to change framing, which does not suit situations that require zoom flexibility.

Questions about this item

Will the weather-sealed metal barrel or stepping-motor autofocus need servicing after heavy daily use?

The all-metal I Series barrel and weather sealing are built for durability; the stepping motor has no user-serviceable parts, so routine care means keeping the mount and front element clean.

What optical limit appears first when shooting wide-open at f/2 for extended sessions?

At f/2 the three aspherical elements and one SLD element control distortion and chromatic aberration well; stopping down slightly reduces any residual softness at the edges.

How much heat or noise does the autofocus motor produce during all-day video recording?

The stepping motor runs silently and generates negligible heat, so the lens stays cool and quiet even during continuous video capture.
