56mm f/1.4 Portrait Lens for RF Mount

The Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN is a prime lens built for Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. It delivers a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture for shallow depth of field and strong low-light performance. The lens uses Thermally Stable Composite construction and includes a dust- and splash-resistant mount seal.

Suited to portrait and low-light shooters on RF

Photographers who want a compact, bright prime for subject isolation will benefit from the wide aperture and optimised autofocus. Buyers needing zoom flexibility or wider angles for environmental scenes should look at a different focal length.

Confirm RF mount and APS-C coverage before ordering

This lens is designed exclusively for Canon RF-mount mirrorless systems and covers an APS-C image circle. Verify your camera uses the RF mount and that the field of view matches your intended framing.

Questions about this item

Does this lens need a Canon RF-mount mirrorless camera body to function?

Yes, it is built for Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras and will not mount on other systems.

Can I keep using my existing EF or EF-S lenses on the same RF body alongside this 56mm F1.4?

The RF body accepts EF and EF-S lenses through an adapter, so your older glass remains usable while you add this native RF prime.

How can I verify the autofocus is operating correctly after attaching the lens?

Half-press the shutter; the camera should lock focus quickly and the viewfinder or rear screen will show a sharp subject with smooth background blur at f/1.4.
