82 mm Front Lens Cap

The Sigma 82 mm front lens cap is a protective accessory built for lenses with an 82 mm filter thread. It shields the front glass from dust, scratches and fingerprints during storage and transport. Photographers who want a simple, reliable barrier for valuable optics will find it fits the need.

Center pinch attachment

A centre pinch mechanism lets you attach and remove the cap with one hand, even when a hood is in place. The design grips the inner edges of the filter thread for a secure hold that resists accidental dislodging. No tools or adhesives are required.

Everyday protection limits

The cap comfortably handles daily bag carry, shelf storage and quick lens changes in the field. It does not protect against heavy impact, water ingress or extreme pressure on the front element. For those risks a padded pouch or hard case remains necessary.

Questions about this item

What does the 82 mm figure mean when I put this cap on my lens?

It matches lenses that have an 82 mm filter thread so the cap screws straight onto the front element.

How does the center pinch design affect daily use?

Squeeze the two tabs and the cap releases instantly; let go and it seats itself without threading.

Will this cap fit inside a standard lens pouch or filter wallet?

Its slim profile adds only a few millimetres so it slips into most pouches and filter wallets without bulging.
